VEGAN BURGERS

Burgers are my weakness, but most recipes I find online have SO MANY fancy ingredients and seem like way too much effort. This recipe is simple and can be made with ingredients I feel most people already have in their homes (no need to run to the shops to purchase anything specifically to make this dish). They are low in cholesterol, taste amazing and easy to make :) perfect combo.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- Passata (or pureed tomatoes)
- Chia seeds
- Chickpeas
- 1/2 an onion
- Besan/gram flour

METHOD:

- Cook 1 cup of quinoa (see video below for my method)
- In a bowl, add 1 cup of passata, a few spoons of the cooked quinoa and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds. Mix together and keep adding the quinoa in bit by bit
- Add the chickpeas and besan to the bowl. Add the besan slowly and stop adding it when the mixture starts to form solid patties (i.e. patties that don't break apart)
- Dice half an onion, add it to the mixture and mix again
- SEASON WITH: pink salt, garam masala, cayenne pepper and ANYTHING ELSE you desire. Work with YOUR taste buds to create some magic

to cook
- In a pan over a medium-high heat, add in 2 spoons of coconut oil. Wait for it to heat up a bit and add your patties into the pan
- Flip them every 3-5 minutes (until brown and cooked all the way through)
